Just in time for Football Season we have a new shirt design.  Help us welcome Spiller to Buffalo.  This new shirt is available in mens sizes small through extra large.

Stop in and gear up for the Parade this weekend.  New styles and sizes have just arrived for ladies and men.  Spoiled Rotten has always been the Buffalo gear headquarters and this season we have four new St. Patty’s styles and the “I heart Buffalo Irish” shirt is now available in long-sleeve.  We will be opening early this Sunday March 14th, so you can outfit yourself for the big celebration!

As many of you know, we’ve filled the newly expanded upstairs of Spoiled Rotten with all kinds of sumptuous treats like our cupcake bath bombs, and candles that echo the scent and eye-appeal of delicious baked goods.  Our most recent addition to the store is a series of body parfaits made by Bovine Bubbles and Hogwash.

This line of day-glo lotions comes in cool colors and tasty scents.  Our favorite (today, anyway) is the Lemon Sugar, which smells just like Grandma’s lemon meringue pie.  We have over a dozen varities in-store, including: Apple Mint Muddle, Electric Popsicle, Jelly Donut and Strawberry Jam.  In addition to smelling good, these lotions give our slightly sunburned skin a reason to breath a deep sigh of relief.  Each pump from one of these trim bottles delivers a shot of lush body parfait and a hint of soothing aloe gel!

Better yet, we’ve been able to squeeze in some fun new items that have arrived just in time for Mother’s Day.  We can’t believe how cute these new cupcake bath bombs are from Feeling Smitten.  They come in two sizes and look good enough to eat!  There are so many delicious flavors to choose from like White Chocolate Cherry, Blackberry Tea and Lemon Cake.  There’s even a special one that’s dedicated to Mom.  Each is made with natural ingredients that will leave skin feeling smooth and renewed.

So many of us choose to show Mom our love with a big bouquet.  But maybe this year, you ought to give her something that is equally beautiful but longer lasting.  Spoiled Rotten has a wide variety of flower pots, and these sets of rimmed, hand thrown vessels are just gorgeous.  They come in varying shades of pewter and charcoal, as well as traditional terra cotta.  When it comes to filling the pots, there are many types of annuals to choose from, but maybe something a little more useful would be good, too.  Is Mom a cook?  Fill a set of these with rich, earthy soil and a selection of baby herb plants from Urban Roots.  That way Mom will have access to delicious, meal enhancing flavors all summer long.

A large assortment of quaint and kitschy appliquéd hand towels dedicated to things we all love like Strawberry Shortcake and Flapjacks are in stock, as are candles that evoke the scent of summer (think juniper, basil and thyme).  Supercute handbags and unique jewelry items are also big sellers this time of year.  Doesn’t Mom deserve to be Spoiled Rotten?

Well, you may be able to pick up the required Dyngus Day pussy willow branches at Buffalo’s famous Broadway Market, but you’ll need to stop into Elmwood’s Spoiled Rotten to pick up one of the celebration’s preferred tshirts.

There’s the classic Celebrate Buffalo I Love Buffalo Polish style (pictured left), which decorates the classic unisex tee as well as girls cut tees,  hoodies (at 25% off) and pint glasses.  But this year we also have the hot new Polska tee with its super cool depiction of the White Eagle of Poland (pictured right).   Modern and stylish, this isn’t your grandma’s favorite Dyngus Day tshirt.  Rumor has it we may be getting a shipment of other new styles just right for getting your Dyngus on–we’ll keep you posted.

We’re pretty well known for carrying some of Buffalo’s favorite tshirts, so when the opportunity arose to sell some of the cool offerings from Buffalo Sports Tees- we jumped.

Buffalo Sports Tees are bold, graphic, and funny.  They express things we locals are saying and thinking about our favorite teams, but in an iconic way.  Check out the shirts above.  The hottest one we have in stock right now is the bright red ‘T.O. in the BLO- Get Your Popcorn Ready’.  It hangs upstairs in the Elmwood store and gets a great reaction from our citizen customers and our tourist customers.  The supercute girls-cut ‘Buffalo 5- In Trent We Trust’ shirt is a real stunner with 3/4 length sleeves and an old school vibe.

Celebrate Buffalo’s snuggly hoodies are on sale right now.  Why not pick up an I Love Buffalo Irish themed warm-up for either of the upcoming St. Patty’s Day parades (Downtown or the First Ward)?  Of course we also have this popular design available in women’s cut tees, men’s tees, onesies and youth tees.  If you’re looking for a way to toast the Irish, consider using one of our I Love Buffalo Irish pint glasses or shots.

If you’re lucky enough to be invited to one of the many St. Patrick’s celebrations happening all over town, Spoiled Rotten also has adorable hostess gifts.  There are embroidered luck-themed hand towels and a slew of other green housewares including candles, vases and platters.

Sweet, sweet tagine.  Where have you been all our lives?

At the shop we’ve just received these brightly colored tagines.  Better yet, they come in two sizes, a larger option which holds up to 7 cups, and an adorable mini that has a 1/2 cup capacity.  Made of blonde terra cotta and microwave/dishwasher/oven safe–these pots make an excellent one-of-a-kind housewarming gift.

What’s a tagine, you might ask?  A tagine is an ancient cooking vessel that hales from North Africa and Morocco.  Its special shape makes it ideal for turning inexpensive, tough cuts of meat into tender, juicy meals.  The steam created during the cooking process collects in the top of the tagine’s conical lid.  There it turns to moisture and falls back into the food, creating the perfect cooking environment for food that loves to be cooked low and slow–food like short ribs and shanks.

Other items that benefit from this style of cooking are savory dishes enhanced by the flavor of sharing a pot with simmered fruit.  A perfect example of this is the recipe you’ll find here for Chicken with Apricots and Spiced Pine Nuts (from Gourmet magazine).

While those dishes are better served by the larger 7-cup tagine, small and tasty ingredients can be made in the 1/2 cup mini.  Perfect for roasting garlic or sweet shallots, this little tagine also makes a great counter-top salt cellar.

Though the groundhog saw his shadow this morning, and the Buffalo winter wind is as brisk as ever, spring has sprung at Spoiled Rotten.

A few new product lines have arrived, bringing a little cheer along with them. The moment you enter the shop you’ll be greeted by simple housewares boasting voluptuous cabbage roses, herbaceous candles in little clay pots, and delicate glass votive holders shaped like Easter eggs. But those are for another day. Today we want to tell you about the lovely ladies that have arrived.

The fairies and muses you see above are just a small selection of the whimsical gals from the Laini’s Ladies line. Adorned with ribbons and glittering beads, these Ladies invoke good will and a celebration of life. Each little lady was designed by Laini Taylor (a Portland artist) and bears a funny or poignant quote. Measuring approximately 9” long, Laini’s Ladies hang from beaded copper wire.
